BEFORE YOU APPLY

Four things every
borrower should know.

PREPARATION MAKES THE DIFFERENCE.

Smart borrowing
starts here.

These tips apply whether you borrow from us or anyone else. An informed borrower gets a better outcome every time.

01
Know your budget before you borrow
List your monthly income, essential expenses and existing debt payments. The amount left over tells you the maximum monthly loan payment you can realistically afford — and you should leave a cushion below that.
02
Compare the total cost, not just the payment
A lower monthly payment over a longer term can cost you hundreds or even thousands more in total interest. Always compare the "total of payments" figure between different scenarios before choosing.
03
Read every disclosure before you sign
The written loan disclosures contain the APR, finance charge, origination fee, payment schedule and total repayment amount. These are the binding terms — not the estimates on a website.
04
Check your credit report first
Review your credit report for errors before applying. Incorrect balances, accounts that are not yours or outdated negative marks can affect your rate and approval. You can request a free annual report from each major bureau.

YOUR MONEY. YOUR DECISION.

We want you to borrow
only what you need.

A responsible lender is not one that approves everyone — it is one that helps you understand whether borrowing makes sense for your situation. Take your time, use our tools and ask questions along the way.

Start with the calculator.

Test different amounts, terms and see how the total cost changes before you decide how much to borrow.

Read the lending disclosures.

The disclosures page explains APR, fees, the approval process and what to expect at every step.

Understand the total cost.

The monthly payment is not the whole story. Focus on the total of all payments over the life of the loan.

Ask us anything.
